Mission statement

The primary objective of Cosh is to provide good quality child care for our children who attend Chorlton park primary school as well as providing a safe and secure environment to enhance children’s learning opportunities, social, emotional, physical and intellectual development through play.

The scheme seeks to provide a caring environment which recognises values and respects equally the diverse cultural, ethnic, race and class backgrounds of all children, parents, carers and staff. In line with similar after school provision we have an equal opportunities policy.

Cosh aims to provide children with realistic expectations of behaviour, including appropriate language, physical contact and care of the equipment.

How COSH operates

playing footballCOSH is an independent company, run as a not for profit cooperative, with a management committee made up of parents / carers and members of COSH staff. The committee is elected each year at an AGM and is formally and legally responsible for overseeing the operation of COSH.

Although the scheme is managed separately from the school, we enjoy an excellent and mutually beneficial relationship. COSH depends on the school for its generous support. COSH senior staff and the chairperson liaise regularly with the school’s senior staff and management team.
